Hay there, my name is abacus, and today I’m releasing my v first single. Welcome to my little corner of the werld! Link below Publication fer m’werk has been.. a long time coming. In spite of my swooning hart, actualized productions have eluded me throughout decades of writing, singing, composing and performing. Imagining anything more than this cycle seemed pretty impossible for me, for the longest thyme, but, today, a new chapter is emerging with ‘Paradise Unsupervis...ed’. And, I know where this magick comes from. It was putting my hart within the hands of my community that made this project possible. I live in upstate NY, and have since 2015, but in the winter of 2018, i was flat broke and wanted to return home to the land of my hart, to birth something beautiful. So, i threw together a gofundme, which was swiftly met with the support of philanthropists, colleagues, lovers, friends and family from WV to NY and everywhere in between. Such care carried me, literally. To those present in my life, both then and now, i love you, i need you, and I’ll sea u soon. I was also blessed by individuals outside of the monetary realm. Singer song-writer, boa-constrictor-whisper, mountain mama, and my friend, EMay https://emaymusic.bandcamp.com/ of Healthberry Studio, welcomed me into their live-in recording space, way back in the mountains http://www.healthberryfarm.com/. She also provided me with songwriting writing tips, vision direction, musical inspiration, lessons on grit, and so. much. care! Last to fall into my lap was an organic music collaboration. In addition to recording the vocals for Paradise Unsupervised, long time friend, production artist and musical engineer, charles.earl.richard https://charlesearlrichard.bandcamp.com/ provided melodies and beats for my lyrics to land upon. And I remember being in awe the nite that all of such happened. Drumming, riffing, endless tracking, and Maker’s Mark (i think). I really can’t express how lucky i am. So much goodness. ANYWAY. I think that it’s because of trusting in interdependence that this song became more than a crumpled up sheet of paper, or a lost fone recording. It is real. it has flight.
