I respect that this is a non-political group, so let me clarify before someone decides I'm being political l(I'm not). Many of us in the USA are self-employed, and so far none of the proposed "aid" to the general population will benefit us, other than possibly federal paid sick time if we actually catch coronavirus (and that's a bit vague). I'm asking for those of you who are 100% self employed in the USA to PLEASE email both of your senators and demand income reported on ...schedules C, E and F be included in the senate definition of "income" for the various COVID-19 relief packages being discussed. This would also include those who have K1 income but did not take W2 wages. Feel free to use my wording or write your own: Dear Senator [name], I am writing you to ask that the Senate not exclude self-employed from any COVID-19 relief measures. I see in a news article issued today that "Income is defined as wages, Social Security benefits, and any pension income." For those of who are self-employed, we do not have "wages" yet we have reported and taxable income. We do not get paid time off, and we will not qualify for unemployment when our hours are cut, or clients no longer need our services. Most of us will not qualify for SBA loans. Many of us will go out of business if we lose business and can't get paid. We make up a good portion of the economy. Please expand the definition of "Income" to include all self-employed Schedule C, E and F income. Please, see to it that we are not lost in the cracks. Thank you!
