ABNY mourns the loss of Mayor David N. Dinkins, whose wisdom, integrity, humanity and grace inspired us all. He was a trailblazer the first Black Mayor of our City, one of the first African American Marines, and a man consistently ahead of his times. Mayor Dinkins spent his career fighting for critical issues, including affordable housing, mental health and homelessness. His many accomplishments include the revitalization of Times Square, keeping the US Open in Queens, an...d putting our city on the path to being the safest city in America.Mayor Dinkins’ message is as meaningful today as it was when he was Mayor: we live in a gorgeous mosaic, where we can be our different, unique selves, as we contribute to something bigger. Our ABNY community is grateful for the inspiration he gave us every day and we will miss him deeply. We extend our deepest condolences to his children and grandchildren, as well as those individuals whose lives were touched by Mayor Dinkins’ good deeds and service. See more
#ABNYRecommends: Support local restaurants: participate in NYC Restaurant Week To Go! From 1/25-31 (with optional extension through 2/7), participating restaurants are offering an entrée and at least one side for lunch and/or dinner for $20.21. We also ask you to encourage your staff, friends, or co-workers to order often (and be generous with gratuities!) or consider ordering lunch in for your staff. For full details on the @NYCgo program here: www.nycgo.com/restaurant-week
A strong New York depends on vaccine adoption for the health of our fellow New Yorkers and, with that, the City’s economic recovery. This is critical, especially in the communities that were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. As New Yorkers, we need to work together, listen to the concerns of those who are hesitant, and provide the information people need to make decisions and get vaccinated. - Steven Rubenstein, ABNY Chairman, Citywide ABNY Poll You can view the poll in its entirety here: http://ow.ly/N7Kx50DhFbc

#ABNYRecommends: New Yorkers can now add their phones to mobile contact tracing efforts and get COVID-19 exposure notifications. The more people who participate, the more effective it is. Go to ny.gov/covidalerts to add your phone and help protect our City, our communities, and our families, while maintaining our privacy.
ABNY CEO Melva Miller joined NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell Silver and Coro New York Interim Executive Director Gregg Bishop for the Design Your City kickoff panel: "Urban Design and Neighborhood Development."
Starting TODAY New York City has expanded eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to those ages 75 years and older and certain groups of frontline essential workers. Go to http://nyc.gov/vaccinefinder for more info and to make an appointment.
