We are TOUCHED and INSPIRED every day by SUSANA’S JOURNEY. Not just her one with cancer but her FAITH, her LOVE for her daughter and her dedication to educate u...s about MENTAL HEALTH as well. Her STRENGTH and POSITIVITY through this all is everything we stand for. However we know it’s not easy and it’s not a journey anyone should take alone. I created SHE ALWAYS BELIEVED with the intention of not just supporting other women but empowering with the message that together we are STRONGER. Our INCREDIBLE community has UNITED to share her story and help raise funds for medical care. We have partnered with local women-owned business to bring you a collection of products that will INSPIRE, EMPOWER, and remind you that we are ONE. I want to thank the below brands for coming together to support such beautiful woman! @madilacie_photography @the_lash_loungebysheilasoto @laarepari @rinnovori @inspireme_co @sarahcreativespace With your help 100% of the proceeds of all our efforts will go directly to Susana. Susana María’s journey

Over the past few weeks, #SuperDonald has undergone two more cycles of chemo + immunotherapy. The cycles were tough, he had increased heart rate, blood pressur...e issues, fevers, and we opted to give him a feeding tube since he sleeps a majority of the day and doesn’t eat. We were also admitted after the treatment for extremely high blood pressure after cycle 2. Because of all of this, we opted to have a meeting with his oncologist to talk about the risk/benefit of treatment. After speaking with Dr. Modak, we were basically given 3 options: 1. Do nothing, and watch and wait (which he strongly advised against) 2. Do one more cycle of immunotherapy and scan (which he wanted to do) 3. Scan then go to a vaccine trial (this vaccine trial has nothing to do with COVID) During our conversation, his oncologist explained that they wanted the two spots on his femur and spine to go away. This isn’t active disease, so it cannot spread and won’t grow, but ideally we would have 100% clear scans. Also, since the area on the skull has been radiated it’s safe to say there’s no threat of relapse in the radiated areas. Dr. Modak seriously wanted to give chemo immunotherapy another shot. It’s possible he didn’t have enough cycles under his belt to completely remove the spots, BUT there’s also a chance that the spots are just so mature (dead) that they won’t be removed. The only way to find out was to do more treatment. So we decided to do one more cycle. About two weeks ago, Donald completed what we are praying will be his FINAL chemo immunotherapy cycle. As his oncologist said, we aren’t fighting active disease. Also as his parents, we do not want to continue to give him chemo. It’s low dose, but doesn’t come with 0 side effects - especially long term side effects. At the end of the month, Donald will have a complete work up of scans to assess where he’s at. We’re hoping that all is well and we can move onto the vaccine trial, which will teach his body how to detect and kill neuroblastoma cells before it becomes a threat. The last time we spoke about this trial was back in December, right before his relapse, so I cannot say I’m not a little nervous to have this conversation again. We know God is faithful, He has brought us through the darkest time in our lives. Donald will get through this. He will be just okay. Knowing all of this still doesn’t make the journey any easier. Just tolerable. Thank you all for your continued prayers and well wishes. On a very exciting note, despite all that he’s been trough, Donald & Ephraim have stepped up from kindergarten to first grade!!! Donald has literally gone to school maybe 2-2.5 weeks per month because of treatment, and still managed to keep up with the material. He’s so amazing... as well as Ephraim. This last year and a half have been so difficult for them but still they rise to the top! What a blessing it is to be their mother.

Port placement #2 can I tell you how much I hate cancer. cancer is from the pit of hell and I want nothing to do with it! It is not welcomed in my body. As much... as I hate having this port placed I am trusting that it is necessary to facilitate this next phase of treatment. Thankful for the injury that prompted a scan that found the recurrence. I wasn’t due for a scan for another two months. Thankful for the fact that I am still here. Alive. Breathing. Smiling. Still laughing. I won’t lie I cried a lot last night. But I cried out to God and He comforted me in the middle of this storm. I mean what new mom has to struggle with what will happen to their new baby? If you know.. but no! I won’t entertain death. It is not in my vocabulary. No one should ever go through that! But the devil messed with the wrong lady. Let me remind him of his destiny in the pit of hell! he thinks that he can destroy my faith in God. But God is good no matter what! See more
