Atlantic Beach Rescue 11.12.2020

It was Assemblywoman Melissa "Missy" Miller's son Oliver's 21st birthday yesterday, so ABR and several other local departments pulled out their trucks to help him celebrate the big day. Hope he enjoyed the parade!

Atlantic Beach Rescue 21.11.2020

Overnight the Long Beach Fire Dept. was requested by NCPD to standby in West Atlantic Beach as police were on the scene of a barricaded subject threatening to s...et his house on fire and possibly injure law enforcement. As the standoff went on smoke and flames were seen from the second floor of the home and the fire dept. was called into the scene. A working fire was transmitted, and firefighters knocked down what fire they could from outside until they were able to enter the home. A search of the home resulted in the subject being found unconscious but alive along with a canine. There was no one else in the residence. The scene remains under investigation and additional photos from the scene can be found on the link below. | https://www.k2mphotography.com//Long/Erie-Avenue-11-19-20/ See more

Is this the new Baywatch movie? No, it's just ABR training with the Catalina Beach Club lifeguards. But just as good of a show

It's not often that we get to meet people that we save, once everyone is dry and the rescue mission is over. That's why it was really special to have these boys over at HQ and hear about their experience when their boat flipped in the inlet. The quick dialing of 911 by a bystander and rapid response of all the rescue units helped saved their lives. Or maybe the real treat was the cannoli and cheesecake they gave us in appreciation. Either way, it was a good day. Other pics are from our first in-person, socially distanced monthly meeting and BBQ.

It's been a busy day in the village... After several signal 9s, ABR was toned out for an overturned boat in the East Rockaway inlet. 3628 responded and picked up all 3 victims, who at that point had been met by rescue swimmers from the shore. The aided were brought to Silver Point Beach Club, where they were treated and transported by medical personnel on scene. Great work by all parties involved (including Inwood Fire Deparment, Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, Woodmere Vol. Fire Department, City of Long Beach New York Fire Department, New York City Fire Department (FDNY), NYPD, Nassau County Police Department, Coast Guard Station Jones Beach and others). Wear your PFDs!

This afternoon Station Jones Beach and our partners responded to a capsized vessel that left three people in the water. All three were recovered and transported... to EMS ashore to get checked out. As always, please boat within the capabilities of your boat and your crew and if you’re going out on the water WEAR A LIFE JACKET!! No one plans to capsize their boat and with currents and waves you may find yourself unable to reach your boat to retrieve one after the fact if you can even get to it once you’re in the water.
