Perform this series of exercises in a continuous sequence, flowing smoothly from one exercise skill to the next. The objective in combining these exercises is to target mobility at multiple joints, keep our core musculature firing as we proceed through the sequence by only using a dumbbell or Kettlebell on one side of the body, all while utilizing functional strengthening exercises to do so! Here’s a great functional exercise that can be performed utilizing dumbbells or kettlebells. This exercise has the potential to be an option when working with clients/patients with certain shoulder impairments/pathologies or limited shoulder mobility. It also functions as a helpful exercise for the bench press during the transition period from when the bar is approximating the chest into the upward phase of motion, and also as a power development exercise for the chest, shoul...ders and triceps from a stationary position. The following are 4 variations: 1) Regular floor press (multiple starting positions are possible) 2) Single arm floor press (multiple variations are possible) 3) Unsupported floor press with the legs elevated in the air 4) Single dumbbell or kettlebell based (multiple variations are possible) Stay healthy and safe, care for each other and enjoy!
