Although the strike is over harvesting has been light. Low volumes will be crossing the border this week and stronger volumes beginning next week. We expect heavy volumes mid to late next week. Prices should remain firm until the end of next week. This was a long strike and most of the terminal markets are out of avocados and will take about 10 to 14 days to recover, we will have just a little bit before. Mean while we have Mexico Ataulfo Mango.

11/13/18 To the Lovers of Hass Avocados From Mexico: We are pleased to inform you that after a long dispute between Growers and Packers of Hass Avocado Mexico, under the auspices of APEAM and several government agencies, the conflict has been resolved and protesting growers agreed to disburse all road blocks. Some harvesting took place yesterday and today, and we expect to fully resume our harvesting activities tomorrow Growers and packers agreed to improve the information t...hat growers receive about market conditions and to increase transparency about prices, marketing costs and margins. The transactions between growers and packers will continue to be individual and based on market dynamics; not on any type of set pricing. Throughout this process, APEAM maintained the interests of its two sectors (growers and packers) as the priority, while always respecting and abiding by the law. The Mexican avocado industry will now focus on supplying its markets and regaining the trust and preference of its customers in the US and other international markets. Which means Our Alligator Skin Avocado will be here on Monday. look for the "G" Box. See more

Hass Avocado Growers continue to suspend operations and refuse to negotiate reasonable terms. There are some growers and packing facilities that are continuing with operations. Unfortunately there are challenges with road blocks preventing these operations to continue successfully. The Mexican government has not been involved and will let the situation work itself out. The APEAM is working with the growers to help resolve the issue and allow some operations to continue working. Hopefully they work out the issues soon. I will keep you updated.
