Welcome to IONE's 25th Annual Dream Festival FaceBook virtual residencies. To start us off we have the members of the AUMI Dream Ensemble of Kansas. - Detta "...We are excited to curate the FaceBook page for the first week of IONE’s 25th Annual Dream Festival! What an honor! We look forward to sharing music, poetry, video, and to invite you to dream with us from December 2-8, 2019." - Sherrie Tucker Who are we? The AUMI Dream Ensemble of Kansas is a group of people who enjoy playing the Adaptive Use Musical Instrument (AUMI) together. Some of us play on a regular or semi-regular basis at the Lawrence Public Library Sound & Vision Studio in Lawrence, Kansas. A few have never played the instrument before joining us in making the music that we share with you this week! The AUMI Dream Ensemble of Kansas was born one year ago when IONE invited the AUMI improvisers in Lawrence, Kansas, to play for the 24th Annual Dream Festival. Our concert was telematically broadcast from Kansas to New York. Here is a link to our 2018 performance in Kansas. https://mediahub.ku.edu/m/aumi_dream_concert.mov/1_x45mckrk What is AUMI? AUMI one of many hundreds of wonderful projects developed by Pauline Oliveros. AUMI is a free downloadable musical instrument app that adapts sound to body movement, with the goal of being able to adapt to every living body. It facilitates inclusive music-making across abilities and generations. No experience is necessary to play AUMI. You pick sound that you like, and then you movea little or a lot. The music follows your movement. The dream potential of AUMI is vast. You can download it too. We invite you to start your own AUMI Dream Ensemble! aumiapp.com Who are the musicians in the AUMI Dream Ensemble of Kansas? The membership of the AUMI Dream Ensemble of Kansas varies. It consists of those who play in it. As we begin the week, the musicians include Travis Bissell, Bill Bowerman, Abbey Dvorak, Oliver Hall, Ray Mizumura-Pence, Rebeca Muñoz Garcia, Sherrie Tucker, Julie Unruh, Drew White, and Ranita Wilks. That list will grow as the week unfolds! The compositions and videos were written and produced by Kip Haaheim using images and audio available from the NASA website for public use. The poetry was written and performed by Julie Unruh and numerous audio clips from Oliver Hall’s inspirational work Songs of the Planets" (produced, engineered and remixed in stereo surround sound by Oliver Hall) were used with his blessing. Recording engineer Jim Barnes recorded the AUMI tracks at the Lawrence Public Library.

AUMI, AUMI,AUMI. I'll be AUMIing at the Marathon of Dreamers at the new gallery Fair John Artspace, Fair & John St (former spot of Ecce Terra) in Kingston, Sunday Feb 2, 1-4PM. It's Groundhog Day, so with luck, you'll be able to see it again and again for all eternity.

Here is some information on the AUMI Sings project from last year. AUMI Sings is very much not ready for release! There's a major conceptual point I want to change in it. Nevertheless, it's an interesting first stab! http://aumiapp.com/aumisings.php
