Dear Quilters, We are very sorry to announce we will not be hosting Adirondack Quilt Camp in Long Lake, NY for 2021. While we are very hopeful to see the Covid-19 vaccine rolling out, we just don't have a guarantee that everyone will be safe enough in time to organize and gear up for Adirondack Quilt Camp this year. ... In addition, due to extenuating circumstances, Long Lake Central School will not be available in 2021. Even if we felt it was safe enough to come back, we simply don't have the space to hold the event. So due to those two reasons we are going to pause Adironack Quilt Camp for ONE MORE YEAR. We are sorry we will miss you again for the second year, not what we were hoping for, but out of necessity, that is where we are for now. Stay healthy, be well and lets catch up soon! While not ideal for any of us, this should give you plenty of time to finish all the projects you've started at Adirondack Quilt Camp since our beginning back in 2010! Dear Quilters, After much consideration and weighing the options, The Town of Long Lake, along with co-organizers Patty Farrell and Shirley Ware, and the Town Supervisor have come to the mutual conclusion that hosting Adirondack Quilt Camp in June of 2020 would not be sensible, and we will have to cancel it for 2020. As we wait for more directives on re-opening from New York State, there are simply too many unanswered questions that linger. We had an incredible registration... this year, and making this decision has been very difficult. The health and safety of our quilters, teachers and staff are of utmost priority. While it would be our hope to have pulled this off, we feel it just wouldn’t be prudent to host this event. People would be traveling from all over the state and country to our event, and there is simply no way to keep everyone safe, no matter how much hand washing and hand sanitizer we provide. We would have to add additional staff, amp up our cleaning protocols and as we all know Quilt Camp is a very socially connected event. At this point there are no gatherings over 10 people and as they open the valve to reopen NYS we wait weekly for updates and it just doesn’t allow enough time to coordinate this effectively. We need to allow time for people to receive refunds and contact their respective lodging properties etc. It is so upsetting to have to cancel this event which would have been our 11th season, but it is what we have to do considering the extreme circumstances we face at this time. Safety has to come first and hosting an event with over 100 people in a confined indoor space just doesn’t make sense at this time. We want everyone to move through this summer safely, with good health and we will reconvene in the fall to discuss what we can do for 2021. We know many of you have likely purchased your class supplies and materials and we have bounced around the idea of just moving this years scheduled classes right along to 2021. We will revisit this idea after we get through the summer season so we can evaluate our plans going forward in 2021. Our office will be issuing refunds for camp and mailing them out at the beginning of June, this is for both checks and credit card payments. Due to limitations we cannot hold onto funds for next year, so we will be refunding everyone’s tuition and additional fees for the extras that were paid in advance. There is nothing you need to do to receive your refund, we will start processing the paperwork this week. We are so very sorry to cancel this year, because we know how special this event is to everyone that attends. We will miss seeing everyone, we value and appreciate all the friendships we have made over the years and we will see you soon! Thank you so much, please stay healthy, safe and keep on quilting! We know everyone is eager for the Quilt Camp website to be launched, but Parks & Rec just finished a big weekend event and we are taking the time to sort, re-size photos, and upload the info and get the on-line sales ready all at once so we can launch the website seamlessly! We will make an announcement as soon as the website goes live with the 2020 Classes. Quilt Camp will be June 28th - July 1st in 2020.
