I was fishing for bass in 11-15 ft of water using light rod with 5 pound test monofilament line, heavy weight and size 1 drop shot hook with Gulp! 3-inch shiner bait but this Northern Pike had other ideas. With good guidance it can be done. 1) Keep the rod so the tip is always bent slightly - it's your only hope 2) I hate the nets but you got to have it just for stuations like these - light line, sharp teeth
