ADK Mission

This is the pastors reality these days. I’m Happy to be retired (Read illustration below)... What is missing? A circle that says, Here are my preferences... but I recognize that there are many of my brothers and sisters in this congregation that also feel strongly yet have a very different preference. Pastor, here is what I promise you: I will be praying for you... I will support your decision... I will not speak ill of you behind your back... I will seek to be a peacemaker in our church... I will understand that whatever is decided, there will be many who are disappointed and will pray for them... I realize that not everyone who want to wait on opening the doors are not ‘just giving into fear’ and those who want to open now are not ‘wanting to see people die’! (There are reasonable arguments on both sides) Finally, I will keep in mind that FAR MORE IMPORTANT TO JESUS than when the doors open is the unity in His church!

It's been great to serve as a live host for this year's Global Leadership Summit, sponsored by the Willow Creek Association. If you look closely at this map, you can see why it's important that we offer this annual event for our local pastors: there are no other host sites within 125 miles!

In the Doctor of Missiology program at Fuller Theological Seminary, I am honored to learn alongside these amazing leaders: brothers in the Lord who bring deep ministry experience from Egypt, France, Liberia, Russia, India, Singapore, the Caribbean, and across the U.S. What an amazing privilege!

Friends of ADK Mission, please keep the families and friends of these two precious girls in your prayers. In a small town like ours, a tragedy like this hits everyone. This is a truly heartbreaking shock to our community here in Saranac Lake, our school district, and especially all of the loved ones impacted by this devastating event.

Please join us this Sunday at the United Community Church in Tupper Lake as I begin a four-part series on nurturing our relationship with God!
