Another year of waiting Coby Family Weekend Canceled The College has made the decision to cancel our Coby Family Weekend, initially scheduled for October 1 through October 3. As the rate of community infection from COVID-19 remains high across our state and region, we feel the best decision to protect the health of our campus is to forgo events of this size at this time. Our Emergency Management Committee continues to monitor the potential for spread of COVID-19 and seek ...guidance from our local health authorities as we assess plans for future events. In AGEN333 students prepare for careers in product development and test environments. In this course students learn engineering principles of equipment test and development and apply them (along with what they have learned in previous classes and work experiences) to a development project. Working with a sponsor student teams define, design, fabricate, and validate modifications to an existing, or new, piece of equipment. One of the projects this past year was a 3-point hit...ch mounted boom to help the college farm pump the manure lagoons. Students Arland Bradley and Ed Thiel worked with the project sponsor Kane Seamon, Crop and Equipment Manager of the SUNY Cobleskill college farm, to develop a folding boom with a winch to raise and lower the hydraulic-powered pump. The boom is 20 feet long when extended, and folds to 12 feet for transport and storage. The 8' end section rotates to hold the pump straight back or to the side. See more
