"Our Broadway" is at it again to ring in spring! AHRC New York City’s musical theater partnership brought together performers from many of our day programs with... Broadway guest stars. Dale Hensley, founder of the performance program, organized the event over Zoom. A standing ovation for Dale Hensley and all of the amazing singers and dancers as they brought some extra joy to the dawn of a new season. See more

Friday nights are when DJ Joe Antcliff, a supervisor with our Camping and Recreation Department, brings together dozens of people per week from across New York City for music, dance, and catching up with good friends. This video closed out the 2021 Thurman Munson Awards in style!

Jose Espana is one of many AHRC NYC staff who visited families throughout the last year to deliver critical supplies and simply provide a little hope.

Residential Services and Adult Day Services staff members have worked together to keep residents happy and engaged throughout the pandemic.

Teachers and students in AHRC New York City schools, including at the newly opened James P. Murphy Staten Island Prep, are learning and growing together despite the challenges of remote learning and COVID-19.

Workers supported through AHRC NYC's Employment and Business Services continued to keep New York City moving throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This video that premiered at the 2021 Thurman Munson Awards showcases their courage and dedication to getting the job done.

We are pleased to announce that AHRC New York City’s CEO Marco Damiani has been appointed to the Mayor’s Sector Advisory Council on Public Health and Healthcare.... The Council’s goal is to reopen our City with strength and strategy. Having Marco represent our field on the Council is an important statement about the value of our sector in restarting the economy and city life. These councils will provide real-world guidance to ensure our plans to reopen the city make sense and keep people safe. We are facing an unprecedented crisis, but by working together, we will come out stronger than before, said Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Collen Wharton, a nurse at AHRC New York City Residential Services, has been working nonstop to ensure the physical and mental well-being of residents and filling the bridge between caregiver and family. Thankfully, with everything that has been going on, we are doing well. The persons we support in this residence are coping with our new normal and a person who was unwell seems to be slowly improving. People living in AHRC New York City residences have had to adjust to dras...tic changes in their daily routines, with the support of staff. The challenge is to find things to do to keep them engaged and pass the long hours while maintaining social distancing, Collen said. One of the ladies said to me that she was so happy that I was spending so much time with them, but was very upset and could not understand why she couldn’t give me a hug to show her appreciation.
