Hi Everyone! I know it's been a while. A lot has happened since our last meeting. We will have our annual Hot Dog Kick Off meeting in the Masonic Lodge parking lot on Sept. 14th between 6 and 8. Please wear a Class B shirt (if you have one), and bring a friend that is interested in Scouts. We will have food and games to play (your welcome to bring a game to play). Please bring a mask, and stay socially distanced!... Our first regular meeting will be Sept. 21st from 6:30 to 8 at Akron Falls Park Shelter #15 on Brooklyn St. (if available, will text if not). We're going to try to meet outside while the weather is good, then move back to the Wright center when it turns cold (or on rainy days) I’ll text out each week. Below are some of the BSA/GNFC requirements for safe scout meetings. We need everyone to observe these rules! Parents, please review these rules with your scout(s): - Social distance, Minimum 6 feet between people (scouts and adults) - If within 6 feet, WEAR A MASK! (Bring a mask to each meeting) - When we do meet in the Wright center, anything used/touched must be disinfected [the troop will supply hand sanitizer, paper towels and disinfectant spray. We will stop meetings a 15 minutes early to have time to wipe down tables, chairs, and other equipment used, have everyone wash their hands). The Wright center also wants us to clean the restrooms if used. (I think the rule will be If you use it, you clean it!, but we will have someone check that it was done) They also want us to check everyone's temperature upon entering building - Most important: If you are sick, Please stay home. We don't want to pass things around. - If you are at a meeting or other scout event and don't feel well, please let us know. We will separate you from the others, call your parents to take you home, and contact the district office about it. If you see another scout that doesn't look well, LET US KNOW. - No contact with others. Keep your hands to yourself. Don't touch others' stuff. - No sharing of common items. - No close/near contact activities - If you cough or sneeze, turn away from others, cover your face. - Fill out BSA COVID form every meeting/event (scouts and adults) - Must keep attendance (scouts and adults) - Only members of same household should travel together, Masks if not - Camping: GNFC camps closed to troop camping right now. We may tent camp. One person per tent unless siblings. Everyone cook/bring own food. No shared equipment.
