Dear patients, as of Thursday April 9, Empire State Development has deemed emergency Chiropractic care an essential business operation but not routine care. As such, in order to comply with that ruling, we do not have regular office hours at this time. If you have a situation that you feel is urgent please call the office at 315-834-9614. We can and will treat Chiropractic emergencies by specific appointment only while continuing to uphold the social distancing, disinfection and screening protocols as we have been doing since the onset of this public health crisis. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your support in the past and as we move through and past this difficult time for everyone. Meanwhile, stay healthy, stay safe, and have a truly Happy and blessed Easter!

This may seem like overkill and too time consuming, but far better safe than sorry! This virus is such an unknown that as soon as we think we know about it, the data changes. Best to take any and all precautions because it seems like we just don't know enough.

There is a significant amount of research backing this up. Is nice to see it being validated by mainstream organizations! Some insurance carriers, e.g. Excellus, have started programs to educate their provider networks about this. Excellus' program is called Spine Pathway Training. They contend, and are educating their chiropractors, PT's and primary care physicians that due to the research regarding the efficacy of manipulative and physical medicine (and of course the... financial benefit to the insurance company), chiropractors and PT's should be the first line of defense in spine conditions. The research shows that not only are those two professions qualified and capable of identifying conditions for which chiropractic and PT are not indicated or that require more advanced medical/surgical care, patients that are seen first by these two professions are significantly less likely to require advanced imaging (such as MRI or CT) and are less likely to end up requiring advanced treatment methods such as injections or surgical interventions.
