In last night's gathering, we discussed Light as a pervasive religious metaphor. We were discussing Zen, Tantra, and Shin, and found that the way each tradition discusses Light of the mind, enlightenment, buddhanature, is profound and connected. Similarly, this transcends religions to some extent as well. Happy Solstice!

Learning about the erasure of Asian cultures in Western Buddhism is necessary for us to address the full spectrum of racism and white supremacy.

Sacred space, the five senses, and personal composure: In this article on MWE, Sumi Loundon Kim offers three modalities for building a culture of dharma in the ...home, drawn from her childhood experience of Buddhism, her learning curve as a mother of two, and her work as program director and teacher with the Mindful Families of Durham in North Carolina.
