Alden Lancaster Art Club

The Alden Art Club was organized December 6, 1955, with the hope of promoting interest in art in Alden and encouraging both amateur and professional local artists to paint and exhibit their works. The first annual fall outdoor art show by the club and area artists and crafters was held in 1958 in the Alden Bandstand Firemen’s Memorial Park and continued until 2020 when it was cancelled for the first time due to the Pandemic. The club merged with the Lancaster Art Society i...n 2016 as declining membership in both clubs was evident, to form the Alden Lancaster Art Club. Besides the fall outdoor show, the club sponsors exhibits in the Alden Ewell Free Library and the Lancaster library annually, as well as sponsors a scholarship for a graduating senior from Alden and Lancaster high schools, pursuing art related fields. At various monthly meetings held the first Tuesday of the month, the club sponsors various art related demonstrations. All are welcome. We will try to feature a member of our club here monthly. We will begin with 2 charter members, Edith Bensley and Len Weisbeck. Please stay tuned & thank you.
