Sorry that I’ve been so MIA, guys. I got sick. I’m doing ok, but it has been a rough journey to say the least.. it hit me hard. ... I first felt off 2 Tuesdays ago, but I thought it was just another of my usual chronic illness symptoms... By Wednesday evening I was feeling like a truck ran over me. It honestly caught me by surprise, since I have been extremely careful since March because of my immunocompromised state..but nonetheless, it still caught up with me! ... I’m ...starting to feel better, everyday I’m feeling a little relief. I’m still quiet a way from being back on my feet, but slowly I will get there. I am taking ALL the herbs, tonics, tinctures, vitamins and medicines that my amazing practitioners recommended to help my body heal. ... For all of those asking, thankfully my parents are OK, they have not gotten sick from me. I have been isolating in my room and they have been so loving in bringing me all my meals and leaving them outside my room. We are being extra cautious and disinfecting everything constantly. ... Thank you to everyone that has reached out through this rough time, and to all my dear friends who have supported me through calls/texts/prayers/bringing by groceries/dropping off flowers/virtual hugs, etc. I would not have been able to get through this without you all! Whisper a secret in her ear. ... My favorite moments from photoshoots are the ones in between the guided pose. When I first started out in photography, I used to think that every photo needed to be curated, I had to give direction and sometimes even physically put my clients into the proper position in order to get the shot that they or I wanted. ... Don’t get me wrong, posed shots are great, and sometimes the clients really wants some good old fashioned formal photos. But over the years, I learned that my favorite photos are actually the ones that are candid, in the moment and completely unexpected. So I learned to work with my clients to guide them into a pose, rather than physically direct them. Instead of saying: You put your right hand on his chest, and you stand like this, put your left hand on top of his right hand, hold her by the waste, ok good, stand like that, dont move. I now say something more like this I want you to hug her from behind and whisper a secret into her ear. You wouldn't believe what a difference such a change makes in the comfort of the clients and in the realness of the photos! ... What about you guys?
