BLAST FROM THE PAST! While tidying up, I "unearthed' an undergrad project. A representative of Edward Fields, a giant in high-end rugs, visited our class to discuss rug fabrication & design. Afterwards, our assignment was announced: Create a rug using a pattern from anything that inspired us. (I used a wallpaper pattern). Once submitted to our instructor, our designs would be reviewed by the Edward Fields staff and a winner would be chosen. To my delight, my design won 1st place. Though no physical award was given to commemorate my victory, I cannot tell you how proud I was that day. Inspiration My Design

Is this a beautiful chandelier or what ? I would love to have it in my house or use it for a client project. There are tiny dots in the organic, acrylic shapes that make it appear as if there's a mesh inside. Lovely! Unfortunately, my photo doesn't do it justice.

Good afternoon, FB family! This is a job that I recently completed. I took these pictures before the project was completed. Please overlook any stray items in the photos. I just couldn't wait for the photographer's shots to share the project with you. The client is a retired educator who resides in a circa 1920's Tudor style home who wanted to revive her outdated master bath into a more contemporary, spa-like feel with a robust showering experience. The first step was ...to redesign the original tub-shower alcove into an open and airy shower by taking out the soffit above the tub and installing a beautiful glass door enclosure. A bench was added for comfort and a sleek shower panel consolidating all the showering components (Waterfall/rain shower head, 4 body sprays, and hand shower) she wanted in one compact unit. The interior shower walls were clad with a 3-dimensional wavy ceramic tile in a soothing cool gray and accented with a white stone and glass mosaic tile that appears to have little pockets of water. A small niche on the back wall provides storage for her bathing products. Other changes included moving the vanity and recessed medicine cabinet, framed by the same glass mosaic used in the shower, to the north wall. New LED wall sconces that give a nod to the shower tile, flank the medicine cabinet and the original steam radiator was replaced with one that is recessed into the west wall, resulting in more floor space near the vanity. Music is piped into the bath via a combo ventilation fan/LED light with Bluetooth capability. A 3-panel glass door that allows light from the numerous windows in the master bedroom into the bath, glides along a 7' track on the south wall, doing double duty as the entry door when the bathroom is being used and conceals a storage closet at the other end of the wall when the door is rolled to the east. As you can see, this master bath has experienced a radical change, transforming a relic into a spa. My client is head-over-heels with her new spa-like master bath and I'm thrilled that she's happy. Alethea Von Interiors can do the same for you!

Cozy Kitchen Banquette: A Banquette is a great way to incorporate seating for family meals when space is limited (concealed storage in bench seats). We boosted the cozy and style factors for this Banquette by commissioning custom back cushions featuring a bold Ikat print; charcoal gray polyurethane, saddle-stitched seat cushions for durability and easy maintenance; and small stripped accent pillows (pic #2 - fabric will be used for Roman shades later). The yellow pop of color looks great with the white/gray color scheme of the kitchen.
