Hey Forest People! Let’s give a little support to our former VP of Student Affairs by following the brand new Instagram account for her organization, The Adirondack Land Trust! @AdirondackLandTrust
A handful of hope... Last week a wildfire burned 16 acres in the park. It was hard to see this destruction on this mountain that I hold so dear to my heart. I ...saw an oak tree with new acorns dropped on top of the charred ground. While several old trees will die from this fire, many other species will burst into their season of life. It is their time to write a new chapter in the history book of Cheaha. I held a handful of acorns and realized what I was really holding was a handful of hope. -Mandy Pearson, Park Naturalist See more

The Forest People will hike rain or shine, sleet or snow, right? So we hope you had a fantastic Hot Dog Day, even though it was typical Alfred weather starting with snow and ending with sunshine! Now we head into the final stretch of the semester. Finish strong everybody!

All around the world, local infrastructure planners are increasingly adopting a technique to solve these problems: wildlife overpasses.
