Allegany Arc’s Vocational Education Department has an immediate opening for a Vocational/Prevocational Services Team Leader. Full time 36 Hours (hours will be discussed during interview) RESPONSIBILITIES: The Vocational/Prevocational Services Team Leader is responsible for the professional supervision of Employment Specialists. Will be responsible for overseeing delivery of services to assist individuals enrolled in student internship experiences, community prevocational se...rvices, and supported employment to prepare for paid employment or unpaid meaningful community activities, including volunteering. The Vocational/Prevocational Team Leader is also responsible for providing services under OMH agreements and ACCES-VR Contract, to include Benefits Advisement. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in field related to personnel, employment counseling, counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, industrial relations/arts, or other suitable fields and one of the following options: 1. Two years’ experience in vocational counseling in rehabilitation setting, state employment agency, etc. 2. At least 18 semester hours in vocational rehabilitation, educational, or vocational guidance, psychology, social work, special education, or personnel administration and one year of experience in vocational counseling in a rehabilitation setting. Must have valid driver’s license. Use of personal vehicle may be necessary. Allegany Arc Awarded $12,000 in Grants from NYSARC Trust Services WELLSVILLE, NY Allegany Arc, a not-for-profit organization supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Allegany County, has been awarded $12,000 in grants from the Trustee Management Board of NYSARC Trust Services to support Allegany Arc’s recreation programs. NYSARC Trust Services administers supplemental needs trust (SNT) that can make dramatic improvements to the lives of people w...ith disabilities while enabling individuals to maintain eligibility for public benefits programs, such as Medicaid and SSI. For 2020, NYSARC Trust Services is proud to fulfill its commitment to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by awarding a total of $2,636,000 in grants to The Arc New York Chapters statewide. This year, Allegany Arc received $12,000 to develop new recreational opportunities that will enrich the lives of 80 athletes it serves through Special Olympics Allegany County.
