Yesterday we celebrated as a church family in an Installation Service for Pastor Scott Burtis. Pastor Rob Phillips shared a challenging message and then led a prayer of dedication and commissioning along with our church leadership. The humble, neighborhood church is an unlikely powerhouse. Claiming a place for the long haul is a powerful reminder of our commitment to slow growth and a culture of with-ness that can only saturate its community over time with a near-stubborn faithfulness. We are essentially adopting the church as our own, or even accepting it as an extension of ourselves. We are for this body, because we are here with it. In light of today’s confirmation of Coronavirus cases in Tioga and Tompkins counties we will be cancelling church tomorrow and at least the following Sunday, 3/22/20. We will be sending out more information within the next couple of days. If I can encourage you to do this- find a way to worship tomorrow! There are many resources available to do this. Tomorrow has also been declared as a National Day of Prayer, find time to pray for your family, neighbors, community and n...ation. Finally, call at least three people from our church and share 3 things that you are thankful for! We love you! And I look forward to us being the church in a new way. ATTENTION AMBC CHURCH COMMUNITY (Please Share): At this time, we feel that it is still reasonable and safe to gather together for our worship services on Sundays. However, we feel it is important to try to mitigate the opportunities of contamination in these ways: While we are able to meet: Position greeters that encourage using a squirt of hand sanitizer at both entrances. We will temporarily remove the shaking hands part of our worship service.... Will not provide snacks or coffee during our gatherings. So it’s Bring-Your-Own-Coffee month We strongly encourage people to STAY HOME if you are sick or have a compromised immune system. We are seeking the Lord and doing our best to monitor the Coronavirus situation in Broome/Tioga Counties. If the situation worsens, we will quickly move and implement our second phase of risk prevention to help keep our church and community safe. We have sent a more thorough explanation of our Coronavirus Health and Action Plan to our regular attenders and church members. We are honoring Veterans on Saturday, November 9. Breakfast will be served starting at 8:30am. This year, Retired Brigadier General Becky Halstead will be joining us. This is a free event and is open for anyone. Please join us!

Halloween Night, ride our hay wagon from downtown Candor to our church gym (and back) for more fun and more treats. In our church gym, will be inflatables, carnival games, food and fun Halloween decorations. Hope to see you then!

Hey Candor, lets break up the wintertime blues with a fun free family event! We are hosting a VBS preview night on Saturday, March 23 at 6:00pm. It's a 1.5 hr EVENT that includes a LIVE BAND, Inflatables, Face Painting, Archery Tag, Ga-Ga Ball, Camp-Style Games and a whole lot more! All-aged youth invited (parents too), please come to our Foundry Street Parking Lot. I did mention a LIVE BAND, right?!
