September is National Disaster Preparedness Month. We hope that everyone is preparing properly and that you'll never face a disaster that requires you to put your plans in motion or use your emergency kits!

Meet Megan Cecil, our newest veterinary extern who spent some time with us at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic in Starke, FL. Megan has always had a passion for all things furry, scaled, and feathery. Once completing her bachelor’s degree, she migrated to the most magical place on earth and became a zookeeper at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While there, she cared for a variety of species. Some of her favorites were giraffes, hippos, rhinos, and okapi. After three years of being a... zoo keeper, she realized how much she missed veterinary medicine and applied to vet school. She moved to the beautiful island of St. Kitts to complete her veterinary degree at Ross University. She’s finishing up her clinical year at the University of Florida. When she’s not caring for her patients, she enjoys taking her island dog, Maddie, on adventures such as walking on the beach and kayaking. We know Megan will do great things and are excited to have been a part of her journey!
