Chautauqua County in western New York... * Until 1115 PM EDT.. ... * At 1018 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles northwest of Westfield, or 18 miles west of Fredonia, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IS CANCELLED... Snow has diminished across the area this morning. Some light snow and patchy freezing drizzle will continue through noon. Roads may still have a coating of snow or a light glaze continuing to make for slippery travel this morning.

Remember on high efficiency furnaces and hot water/on demand tanks to keep your exhaust and fresh air intake pipes clear and dig out the area around them (remember that you want to clear a large enough area so that there is no chance of the fresh air intake bringing in exhaust gases)so that the carbon monoxide gases don't fill backup into your homes. On lower efficiency equipment and fireplaces make sure your chimney is clear and in good condition. Make sure you have plenty of clean blankets, food,water, and charged batteries(cellphone/ radio). Please check on loved ones and neighbors, especially those who may be disabled/elderly). Keep a clear path for entrance/ exits incase of an emergency.
