Lance will be forever in our hearts, but we are happy to introduce the newest member of our family, Maurice (Moe) Boulder Guillerme. He is adjusting great, and is a very fun little boy!! Moe was rescued from the Sullivan SPCA (Jessie was recued from there also). He is from Kentucky and is a Mountain Cur mix (with Lab we think). He spent weeks in a cage without knowing the feel of solid ground, so he was off to a shaky start, but is growing and getting stronger every day. He is 11 weeks old (Oh, he is a foodie just like Lance). He and Jessie are getting along great!

It is with unfathomable grief, heartbreak and sadness that we had to say goodbye this morning to our first baby, Lance Hoover Guillerme. Lance turned 14 in March. Many of you have come to know Lance over the past years. He was in the store with Al every day, and on many days accompanied us to take Lia to school. He was our best friend and protector. He was loyal to the bone. He was perfect and was a huge part of our extended family. We found him on Fathers Day back in... 2007he was on the roadwe didn’t want or need a dog, but there he was. Al thought it was a sign that we found him on that day, as we were debating on whether to try our 5th IVF to have a baby. We decided to keep him, and decided to try again. Lia was born 16 months later, and we weren’t letting Lance go anywhere. Al always said that he thought Lance was a reincarnation of his father. For many years I made fun of him for this, but Lance loved to do many things that his father wanted to do but didn’t get to before he passed. Well friends, todaythe day we had to say goodbye to our babywas also Al’s dad’s birthday. There are just some things that can’t be explained. Over the past year, Lance has gone thru more lives than a cat. We kept thinking it was the end and he would miraculously recover. We have always held on to the hope that he would be with us forever, even though we knew that wouldn’t be possible. So, last night when Lance got really bad, we still had some hope. We couldn’t get him to stand so Al spent the night with him on the deck in a sleeping bag. This was extremely hard for all of us, but the vet confirmed what we already knew. It was time for Lance to join all of his friends (both dog and human) in heaven. Lance will be buried today in a spot picked by Lia. Next to the pond where he loved to swim, and under two shady trees that Lia love to climb as a kid while Lance was watching over her. He will be happy now, and will not sufferbut he leaves behind a family and friends who will never forget himnever ever. Rest in peace baby boy. You will live on in our hearts and the hearts of so many others forever and everAmen

Happy Christmas Eve Day!! We will be closing today at 3:00 p.m., and we will be closed all day tomorrow so our staff can celebrate the holiday. We will also be closing at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday next week (New Years Eve Day, and will be closed all day on Friday, January 1, 2021. This pandemic has affected all of us, our families, friends, children, even pets. Most of us have suffered great losses, both personally and financially. There are no words to describe the ups and do...wns of the past year, so we won't even begin to try. For those who have helped and supported us this year, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We couldn't have done it without you. Here’s to your HEALTH, Happiness, Wisdom, Wealth and Peace in our time!! We wish all of our friends and customers a Happy and Healthy Holiday. We hope that the New Year brings only good things to everyone. Well, the day is done. It was very cold, but at least the rain passed us by. We hope our staff enjoyed their day away from the store and from the city. Thanks again James, Juan, Saidu and Travis, for all you do each day. (Lance hung out with them also.) Now get back to work!!

WE WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2020. OUR EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN WORKING DILIGENTLY SINCE DAY 1 OF COVID CLOSURES, AND HAVE SHOWN THEIR DEDICATION. AT OUR DIRECTION, THEY FOLLOWED ALL OF THE COVID PROCEDURES INCLUDING WEARING MASKS, CLEANING WITH APPROPRIATE DISENFECTANTS, AND LIMITING ACCESS TO THE STORE. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE BEING THROWN INTO THE FIRE TO SEE WHAT A PERSONS TRUE WORTH IS. Thank you all for supporting us through these Ruff times. Our daughter is trying to get donations for the Sullivan County SPCA, where we adopted our new puppy, Jessie. Yes, Lance is hanging in there for all who have asked. We wanted to support this small shelter. The woman who runs it drives to Kentucky herself to rescue litters and dogs. Please welcome the new addition to our family and to AL'S CYCLE SOLUTIONS, Jessie, female shephard/lab mix, rescued from the Sullivan County SPCA! Lance is being great with her. We are sure you will see her in the store when she gets a bit older. Thanks to the entire staff at SC SPCA.
