Introducing Stephanie Longston, OTR/L. Stephanie joined the Albany Med team in the Fall of 2020. She specializes in neurorehabilitation and has certifications in stroke rehabilitation and LSVT BIG for patients with Parkinson’s disease. Stephanie’s favorite thing about being an OT is empowering patients to engage in meaningful activities to improve their quality of life. As we all know, life has been very different this past year, and as such AMC Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy decided to celebrate the holiday season differently this year as well. The staff "adopted" a family through AMC's annual Adopt-A-Family program to help surprise local youth in the area by fulfilling some of their wishes on their Christmas list. Last week, Isabelle Lesko, PT, DPT and Sierra Hunt, PT, DPT presented at a virtual symposium held by the Brain Injury Association of New York State. They also participated in a discussion panel with other leading medical professionals in the field from top hospitals and rehabilitation institutes in NY state, including NYU Langone Health Rusk Rehabilitation, University of Buffalo Concussion Management Clinic, and Burke Rehabilitation. Their presentation focused on central and peripheral causes of dizziness following a concussion, differential diagnosis and different vestibular treatment approaches.
