In her first collaboration with Rhye, Tony Award-nominated choreographer Sonya Tayeh will premiere 'What Becomes of Love?' With dance commissioned by American Ballet Theatre and a film co-commissioned by National Sawdust, the piece features music by the Canadian musician Rhye (Michael Milosh) a raw, romantic medley of silky falsetto vocals and cascading piano, synthesizer, and violin instrumentation. Tayeh choreographed the work in tandem with her cast of ABT dancers in a q...uarantined "ballet bubble" in upstate New York. See the magic that happens when free-flowing movement meets melancholic ballads. The event will be followed by a conversation with the artists. Produced in conjunction with American Ballet Theatre and National Sawdust, Sharing Spaces Productions, MATTE PROJECTS

Thank you Carlos Lopez, our fearless leader in this adventure! ***... On March 13, 2020, ABT’s Manhattan studios were shuttered due to the threat of COVID-19. This episode features Ballet Theatre Principal dancer, Cassandra Trenary. in collaboration with artist, technologist, and educator, Kat Sullivan. It was a complete gift to be able to create with someone who I felt really connected to from the beginning. This episode features Ballet Theatre Principal dancer, Isabella Boylston in collaboration with master chef and restauranteur, Marcus Samuelsson. I first learned about Marcus from my Swedish mother, who proudly talked about him as a fellow Swede and someone who had found great success as a chef and entrepreneur in New York. I was so excited to get to know him and collaborate with him. It was fun learning about his childhood and how his unique background and diverse experience...s have shaped his artistry. Talking to him brought back some of my favorite memories of foraging for berries and mushrooms in the north of Sweden as a child. I hope you enjoy our Pas de Deux! Always remove, always strip away. Never add... There is no other beauty than the freedom of the body. - Gabrielle Chanel At the beginning of the 20th century, dance opened up new paths for movement and artistic expression, illustrating its irrepressible quest for freedom. Through her close work with artistic visionaries of dance, Gabrielle Chanel catalyzed the interconnections between dance and the CHANEL style. We are excited to partner with the House of CHANEL as the brand embodies our artists’ grace, freedom and artistic expression. Watch this space for more details to be shared soon. CHANEL
