American Legion Montgomery Post 912

Effective Jan 24, Montgomery Post 912 will be temporarily closed due to a number of customers recently testing positive for COVID. For those of you who tested positive, our hopes are that you either remain symptom free, or experience a speedy recovery. Out of concern for our Legion members, valued customers, dedicated staff, and the community, we will close for a minimum of 2 weeks with hopes to reopen when there is less risk of continued spread of the virus. Upon reopening, we ask that anyone who is experiencing any symptoms, or being tested for COVID, to respect our staff and customers by refraining from coming to the Legion until you are confirmed negative for COVID, and symptom free. We truly appreciate your understanding, and look forward to serving you real soon. Stay well, we will keep you posted.

The January 28th 2021 meeting of Post 912 is cancelled, our next meeting is scheduled for February 25th 2021.

American Legion Post 912 will be having their business meeting on Thursday January 28 at 6:30 PM. Masks are required.

The American Legion in Rouses Point, NY has an immediate opening for a part-time short order cook. Responsibilities include food preparation, short order grilli...ng, frying and dishes. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently. The responsible party will need to be able to work as part of a team and as an individual. The position requires long hours on your feet and be able to lift 50 lbs. Hourly wage will be determined upon experience and minimum wage requirements. A reminder that the American Legion Post 912 in Rouses Point will be open New Years Day for our regular hours, 12 Noon till 10 PM.

PRESS RELEASE - From the Clinton County Veterans Service Agency: "Veterans Feeding Veterans The Clinton County Veterans Service Agency has joined forces with the New York State Food Bank, in partnership with JCEO of Plattsburgh, to start providing monthly food boxes to veterans and their families in Clinton County.... We have learned that veterans are two thirds more likely to be food insecure than the general population, and New York State has focused resources to address these issues. As a result, we will be working to develop a monthly food box program for veterans and their families starting in January 2021. If you are a veteran, and wish to receive a food box, please call the Clinton County Veterans Service Agency at 518-565-4720 to complete a short questionnaire. We are also developing a list of pick-up/ drop off locations throughout the county. We are focusing on Veterans Groups/ Organizations, and would like to hear from any who would be willing to be a designated pick-up/ drop off location in their community. If you are interested in assisting with this program in any way, please call the Clinton County Veterans Service Agency at 518-565-4720."

American Legion Post 912 in Rouses Point, along with Tractor Supply on Rt 11 in Champlain are asking for your help to make Christmas morning brighter for some children in the Town of Champlain. We are partnering with Town of Champlain Christmas Magic and St. Patrick's Church, Rouses Point Children's Christmas Program. We are asking for you to drop off a new and unwrapped toy at Tractor Supply in Champlain till December 24th. We will provide the two programs with your toy donations in time for Christmas. Due to COVID-19, American Legion Montgomery Post 912 in Rouses Point will NOT have a Veteran's Day Ceremony on November 11, 2020. As our ceremony was usually he...ld inside with a meal after, we feel this year not to try and limit the number of people attending nor expose anybody to potential of contracting COVID. Hopefully next year we will be able to continue our public gathering activities. See more

Help support our Auxiliary Unit 912. They have not been able to host any fund raising dinners this year, so this is a way to help them raise funds so that they may continue to support Children and Youth and Veterans programs and activities.
