It is with a heavy heart that I am sad to let the extended Amore family know of the passing of our fearless leader, Nathan Hull. To all who knew him, he was a bright, shining light. I know that sounds trite, but you know exactly what I mean. Loved by all, he was truly a kind soul who cared about everyone with a love of the Arts that created our big, extended family out of the ashes of the old Amato. Words cannot express the depth of our sorrow here at Amore. We have seen the... outpouring of love and well wishes and stories on individual Amore family accounts and we are humbled. Humbled by the acknowledgement of what having Nathan in our lives has meant. Please keep sharing your stories and how he affected each of you in his own profound way. In lieu of flowers or any other token, please consider donating instead to Amore to keep the Opera going, even without our fearless and tenacious Empresario. 11 years ago! The start of Amore Opera as we moved all the scenery and costumes that Tony Amato had given us. We still have that legacy and have built on it substantially. I think Tony would be proud of us!

It’s Giving Tuesday: Help the Amore Opera weather the Virus Storm! Like all performing arts group in our country, the Amore Opera is facing an existential crisis as a result of the pandemic. We have had to cancel our spring and summer productions, as well as our children’s show. Even our annual spring fundraiser was forced to be put off. Unfortunately, some of our expenses continue - in particular our warehouse that houses over 30 productions including 100s of costumes.... Many of our sets are from the Amato Opera, along with costumes and sets inherited from the Village Light Opera, La Gran Scena, and the old New York City Opera. We’ve also built many new productions ourselves, including American debuts of Donizetti and Meyerbeer operas. Won’t you help us protect this amazing legacy?
