GMR MOBILIZES DOZENS OF CREWS, AMBULANCES AND PARATRANSIT ASSETS AS HURRICANE LAURA HEADS TOWARD TX Global Medical Response (GMR) is deploying dozens of paramed...ics, EMTs, ambulances, paratransit teams and vehicles to Beaumont, Texas, as part of American Medical Response's (AMR) FEMA contract. This is in response to the federal government's request to AMR for EMS deployment for Hurricane Laura. "We have been monitoring the tropical storms headed into the Gulf Coast for several days now and have been preparing to mobilize GMR resources to impacted areas," said Ted Van Horne, Chief Operating Officer of Global Medical Response. Happy Fourth of July! GMR wants to remind everyone of the importance of holiday safety. Please ensure all safety measures are taken when engaging in fireworks, ...grilling, sun exposure and water activities. AMR Corning crews responded along with Corning City Firefighters on Wednesday evening for a reported structure fire. With Wednesdays extreme temperatures and the fire, responder's were particularly concerned about responder safety and any occupants of the structure. Upon arrival it was confirmed that all persons were out of the building but upon entry, Corning Fire Fighters rescued several furry family members. AMR medics provided rehab to the creatures and with the help of Pawz and Purrz Animal Rescue the animals are receiving emergency Veterinary care and a fund has been set up to raise money to cover those costs.
