Happy Yom HaAliyah, 10th of Nisan. Welcome Home Everyone. Amazing event today down by the Jordan River where it all started. https://YomHaAliyah5779.eventbrite.com The first mass Aliyah in history occurred on the 10th of Nisan when all of Am Yisrael crossed the Jordan River into Israel, led by Joshua. In 2016, the Knesset of the State of Israel codified into law this illustrious Biblical date when it passed the Yom Ha'Aliyah Bill, creating Israel's newest national holiday. A...ccording to the text of the bill's first sentence, the new holiday honors this historically significant date of the 10th of Nisan, which marks the foundation of the Jewish People's presence in the Land of Israel, starting at Gilgal in the Jordan Valley. Join Olim & Israeli leaders in this special place on this special date. Spots are limited, so register today! Details will be sent to all who signup. Transportation, tour, and celebration included: Yom Ha'Aliyah : 10th of Nisan : April 15th 2019, 4pm RSVP: https://YomHaAliyah5779.eventbrite.com As we approach Pesach, which marks the beginning of the Exodus, we first celebrate the end of the Exodus, the 10th of Nisan, and pray that Jews all over the globe finally come HOME! The story of Aliyah binds every Jew historically, and today Aliyah is one of the most important engines of Israeli society. Most of us know about the miracles surrounding the splitting of the Red Sea when the Jews left Egypt under the leadership of Moshe. The Jews experienced a second crossing when the river split in two, allowing for the crossing of the Jordan at Gilgal into our Home. Although Lech Lecha is when Israeli schools mark Aliyah, because many government institutions are closed on the 10th of Nisan, the crossing of the Jordan is when all of Am Yisrael entered the Land; whole & healthy. We should all applaud the Coalition & Opposition that passed the new law in our 20th Knesset. These Members of Knesset took what began as a grassroots Tel Aviv young Olim movement to celebrate our Biblical history, and codified it into the new national holiday law, Yom Ha'Aliyah. Kol HaKavod!
