Today marks the 1 year anniversary of Amy's Sunshine Center's expansion and move to our current location! A big thank you to all of our past, present, and future families and employees that help make our program the best program with the best kids! A big thank you to the Dibbles for providing treats! It was gone before I could even get great pictures!

I'm making some new masks for the Sunshine Kids this weekend! School is coming and masks are required.

There is a scholarship that can cover care for essential workers for this week and next week. Here is the information that I have on that scholarship. It is VERY easy to qualify. And it looks like all you have to really do is fill out the online form and then sign a certificate with income eligibility that I keep on file. Who knows how long the program will go for, but I think it's slated to end on 5/15 at this point, but could be extended. The CARE Scholarship is offered to ...parents that have been declared "essential workers" to pay for their child care costs if they qualify (parents must fill out an on-line application). https://forms.gle/MJ95dpSdP6ehMfFF9 - Income guidelines are much more flexible than traditional child care assistance. Family of 3 - $65160, Family of 4 - $78,600... Please let me know in advance when you plan on resuming care or need to sign up for new care so I can ensure I have adequate staff. Also, because we have kids all day now, we are asking that you send in their Chromebooks and/or packets so they can do their school work during our structured times with adults available to help them through this work. We do have food available for simple lunches, but we are still urging parents to pack a healthy lunch for their children. Breakfast and snack is provided.

We hope everyone is maintaining their sanity and health during this time. I just read something in Governor Cuomo's email: New York State will provide child care scholarships to essential workers. Child care costs will be covered for essential staff whose income is less than 300% of the federal poverty level or $78,600 for a family of four. Essential workers (including health care providers, law enforcement, food delivery workers, grocery store employees and others) can use these scholarships to pay for their existing care arrangement. If an essential worker needs child care, they can contact their local child care referral agency to find openings. Our local agency is Child Care Aware: 607-776-2126
