How much protein are you eating Protein is used to build muscles, repair ligaments & tendons and aid in the immune system. The average person needs at least .8 grams/kg. That means, if you weigh 150 pounds, you need at least 55 grams protein per day (7 oz). UNLESS, you are an athlete - double the protein to 110 grams per day (14 oz). Timing is key - your body cannot process a large amount of protein at once. For best muscle building results, eat protein-rich foods eve...ry few hours. Make meals 20-30 grams (4 oz) protein and a few snacks 15 grams protein each.
