I Just saw this beautiful 20 year old patient of mine for her nasal cast removal after I performed a #closedrhinoplasty and this is how she looked immediately after I took it off at 1 week. There is barely any bruising and the recovery is super quick after a closed approach. All incisions are inside the nose so there are no visible scars! 58 is the new 40!!! !!! Tonight I saw this gentleman who is only 3 weeks after I performed his #facelift and he looks amazing!!! I think 20 years younger!!! I think she looks 20 years younger but completely like herself! She felt her face looked elongated and droopy and was tired of fillers and lasers that did not get her the rejuvenation she desired. When I planned her surgery my aim was to create aesthetic balance for her upper, middle an...d lower face that all had been affected by gravity. I treated her tired eyes and upper face and forehead with a #temporallift that lifted the outer third of her brows and smoothed her forehead and an upper #blepharoplasty (#eyelidsurgery ) to remove excess skin. I lifted her cheeks and #nadolabialfolds with my minimal access (short incision) #deepplanefacelift . To create more contour for her cheeks I reduced her #buccalfat that had grown in her forties with a #buccalfatremoval performed through an incision inside her mouth. Exactly one year ago today I was in South America performing #PlasticSurgery for free on children born with birth defects and I was supposed to lead a surgical team with @htc_ne this week to help these kids again. We normally perform #microtiarepair , facial birth tumors like #hemangiomas and #cleftlipandpalate surgery. My heart is in Colombia this weekend. I am sad that I cannot help due to all the travel restrictions placed on our team of surgeons, anesthesiologists and ...pediatricians. Here are a few examples of the work we performed there. One is a #microtiarepair where I created an ear for a child born without one by carving cartilage I removed from his chest! This is a delicate process that takes about 4 hours. The other picture was a complex reconstructive surgery I performed on a child who had a vascular tumor that deformed his face and lip that I performed a delicate flap surgery to reconstruct his face and now he looks normal! Last a picture of one of my favorite little baby girl I performed a #cleftlip repair on last year. I took a picture with her and her mom and I was so happy to hand her daughter to her after I repaired her lip! As soon as we can travel we are going back to help these kids! See more

With the upsides come the downsides in the way of scams, like the impersonator issues that I’ve been dealing with and the catfishing to which some of my patients have fallen victim. For better or worse, today’s COVID climate has accelerated our reliance on digital communications and has literally given us a new lens on life.
