Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a common disorder of the hand and wrist, resulting from compression of the median nerve #carpaltunnelsyndrome. When enough pressure builds up, symptoms may develop such as numbness and tingling in the fingers or pain in the hand or arm. Treatment options include splint immobilization, avoiding activities that make the symptoms worse, medications such as anti-inflammatories, addressing underlying medical conditions that may be contributing to the symptoms, and steroid injections into the carpal tunnel. When the symptoms persist, surgery is sometimes performed to relieve the compression on the median nerve.
