By now you've probably heard the news: AON Gaming has been shut down by the Fire Marshal, with no chance of reopening. The reason? Some obscure 'zoning' bs. How did we get here? The story is complicated, but long story short, our neighbor's Carbon Monoxide detector went off. This prompted an unscheduled visit from the Fire Department. When the Fire Marshal inspected the building, he found a small technicality which he could use to shut us down to the public. Zoning laws are ...tricky, and due to the nature of the building and the industrial/warehouse aspects of it, we won't be able to fight this. It really pains us to see the store go after 4 years of hard work, 4 years of amazing tournaments, 4 years of exceptional people, and 4 years of the best gaming community in the entire world. But we've decided not to give up! In order to beat these zoning laws, we're going to move locations! If all goes well, we're going to be relocating to a bigger and better venue. But moving to a new space is expensive. Thus, we've set up this gofundme page. We've estimated that a move would cost about $15,000 after taking into account moving fees, lawyer fees, and the cost of re-outfitting and renovating the new space to fit our needs. Our campaign goal is to reach half of that through the community. Even if you can only contribute by sharing the page, or perhaps you can only spare a dollar, every bit helps get us closer to reopening. There aren't enough ways to thank everyone that's been a part of this journey. We promise it's not over yet, and with your help we'll make this comeback. https://www.gofundme.com/f/aongaming
