Having a hard time falling asleep due to back pain or just looking to get a better nights sleep? This post is for you! . Sleeping can have a huge affect on your body’s everyday posture. Just think, if you sleep in a weird position where your hips are crooked or your shoulder is in a weird position. You’re gonna be in that weird position for 6-8+ hours! Over time it’s going to cause some misalignment issues that can potentially lead to pain down the road. So what’s the solut...ion? Sleep in positions that help you stay as neutral as possible. . Depending on how firm/soft your mattress is. You may have to move the pillows around to different positions to help you achieve a neutral spine. Example: If your mattress is too hard and causes your low back to arch with no support, you may need to place a small pillow under your low back to keep pressure off of it. . Have back pain? If so, you probably don't look forward to getting dressed or putting on your socks and shoes. For those without back pain that don't know what im talking about. Putting on socks and shoes tends to put us into hip flexion (rounding of the low back). For someone that's flexion intolerant, this can cause their back pain to flair up. Do you keep your wallet in your back pocket? Make sure to take it out before sitting? Sitting with items in your back pocket can cause your hips/low back to go out of alinement and lead to back pain. It’s important to try to stay neutral when sitting. Avoid sitting sideways or leaning excessively to one side.
