Hello Neighbors, Let's talk about how to hire a contractor. While getting estimates is the initial step to finding a contractor, it can be quite confusing. Over 20 years in the industry this is what I have seen and how clients got scammed, robbed and cheated. Price is very important but not the most important, sometimes when Inexperienced contractors give a bad price, they won't complete or botch the project just to get out!... There's many flags that indicate how not to hire a bad contractor. 1.Repeat attempts to reach out with no answer and no response back. 2.They don't show when agreed 3. They do show up but late.. 4. When they show up they barley look around and give you a price. 5. If they don't explain the process and what they offer. 6. Been dismissive to your questions or condescending. 7. If they can't provide a detailed contract once agreed on a price. 8. Make sure you also write down and changes or items not included in original price. 9. Make sure the contract has a schedule for payments, that way they don't ask for money that is not agreed upon. 10. Finally always make sure they can provide references and proof of other jobs completed similar to yours.
