The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services now implements (effective April 1, 2019) provider enrollment fitness criteria. This allows the MDHHS to set reasonable standards and screenings related to the qualifications of providers. Sections 5 & 6 of MSA 190-03 allow Medicaid enrollment termination of currently enrolled physicians with previous convictions up to 10 years prior to the provider enrollment application. A termination of Medicaid enrollment will trigger a "Yes" response within CAQH ProView and on most medical liability insurance applications.
