A message from ASOMA Teacher Patrick: Dear students and parents of ASOMA, I would like to invite everyone to virtually attend my doctoral degree recital at the Eastman School of Music through the following livestream link on Friday, October 2nd at 8pm! ... This recital was originally scheduled for March, but was postponed due to the pandemic. I am greatly looking forward to performing music ranging from Italian lute music of the Renaissance to arrangements of Appalachian folk tunes. The poster attached below was painted and designed by my brother Maxmillian and it incorporates images of my instrument, as well as some of the sheet music from my program. I hope that you are able to tune in! As our seniors move on to become freshman in college, we would like to spotlight their accomplishments here because we were unable to hold our annual recital this year. Our first senior spotlight is Lauren Simons! Lauren Regina Simons has been a student at Aria's School of Music and Art since 2015. She has participated in the Gold Cup and was the 2018 recipient of the Makenna Dadey Scholarship. Lauren earned the lead role in her middle school musical production of Annie, and... enjoyed performing in The Little Mermaid, another school production. As a well rounded scholar, Lauren was a member of the Young Entrepreneur Academy and Varsity Sailing team; she works at a local restaurant part time and volunteers at her church. Lauren graduated from Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women this spring and was accepted into the Honors Program at Monroe Community College, where she is currently enrolled in their 2 Plus 2 program in graphic design. Lauren's acrylic paintings keep her busy, and she thanks everyone at Aria's School of Music and Art for their love and support. Lauren, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be your teachers throughout the years. We are so very proud of you!!! See more
