Our elementary schools have been holding virtual field days over the past two weeks! Thank you to all of our PE teachers, as well as all ACSD staff who contributed to make these events a success. Arlington Teaching Assistants are dedicated, caring individuals who go out of their way to help our students. Titusville Teaching Assistant Sahar Elsamra is pictured below bringing birthday balloons to one of her students. Titusville Principal Rick Sutton said, Before and during the pandemic, Ms. Elsamra has always gone well above and beyond to make sure that all students are given the support they need to be successful. She is an amazingly generous, kind and sincere person and a true blessing to have on our staff. Mission Arlington is a series of videos featuring Arlington students, staff, or alumni who are living the Arlington mission. Their messages are meant to inspire and to add an extra smile to your day. Check out this graduating senior’s inspiring, heartfelt message to the Class of 2020 and the students who will follow them. Keshav Ramji has been recognized as one of the country’s most outstanding high school leaders by the Coca Cola Scholars Foundation and has been awarded a $...20,000 college scholarship. He is one of just 150 high school seniors across the country selected to receive this prestigious scholarship from a pool of 93,000 applicants. Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship recipients are selected based on leadership skills, academic excellence, and community service. In 2019, Keshav placed second at the NYS Science Fair for Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, and he also won a special award from Yale University his work to predict the incidence of Lyme disease risk using machine learning. He is a US National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) qualifier. He is a member of the Turtle Trackers research team, recent grand prize winners of the 2020 Lexus Eco Challenge. Keshav is the president of the Arlington Math Team. He is also the captain of the Varsity Tennis Team, and a member of the Student Athletic Council. Keshav will be attending the University of Pennsylvania, where he plans to study computer science and business. As per the press released by Governor Cuomo on Sunday: "The Governor announced he will issue an Executive Order extending the deadline for school districts to receive school budget ballots. To be counted, school budget ballots can be accepted by hand delivery through 5pm on June 9th and received by mail through June 16th by the school district." Stay tuned for further details once the Governor releases his executive order.
