I’m looking through this month’s Shooting magazine and came across this article. It’s written for a rifle, but I think it would be a great exercise to practice with your firearm of choice, having NO LIVE AMMUNITION around, simulating unlocking your safe, loading up and making ready, even simulating some malfunctions and clearing them IN THE DARK. Again, NO LIVE AMMO - use dummy rounds and completely store away all your live ammo. Better yet? Make it more authentic by running a lap (or speed walking ) around your house first to simulate the adrenaline dump and then try to do the above.
