On January 10, Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital Emergency Department had a critically ill patient that needed to be transported via helicopter. The helicopter experienced a mechanical issue and could not fly out. Bradford Volunteer Ambulance was onsite and volunteered to help with the transport, with the assistance of LifeNet crew. Lifesavers! But it doesn’t stop there, when the Bradford crew returned to IDMH, they also put their hand up and volunteered to transport a disc...harged ED patient back to their place of residence. This saved the patient waiting hours for transfer. With grateful hearts, the IDMH family presented a certificate of appreciation to the Bradford crew on Friday February 5. We honor their commitment to the community. (The picture with the basket is Chris Sanford (Chief), Elizabeth Weir, IDMH Executive, Aaron Sanford, crew member. The picture with the certificate is: Lori Steeves, (IDMH ER RN), Elizabeth Weir, Chris Sanford (Chief), William Sanford crew member and IDMH ED tech, Cathy Pierce (Ambulance Captain), Aaron Sanford, crew member.)
Arnot Health is holding a Covid vaccination clinic today at Arnot Mall. ALL APPOINTMENTS ARE FILLED. For those attending, please use the external entrance to the Events Center in the former Macy's store. Do not enter through the mall. Look for the Arnot Health banner. As soon as we have another delivery of vaccine, we will announce our next clinic.
The appointments for our limited supply of Covid vaccine are filled. We hope to receive another delivery of vaccine next week. Please watch our website for an announcement.
Super Bowl weekend! A true American "holiday". But celebrating this year will look different. The CDC offers some guidance. https://www.cdc.gov//daily/holidays/small-gatherings.html
Where there is great demand, there are always bad players taking advantage. If someone wants you to pay for a spot on a waiting list, it is a scam. https://www.cnn.com//covid-vaccine-scams-2021-t/index.html

If you are scheduled for a Covid-19 test, remember that we have moved the location to the St. Joseph's campus. There are signs to direct you. Also, patients and employees will now enter at the Rehabilitation entrance, where they will be screened.
With all that is happening in our community, this is NOT the year to skip your flu shot! Arnot makes it easy with a drive-thru clinic this Saturday. See you there!
Sometimes a small "Thank You" is all you need. Today, the staff of Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital was saluted by other essential personnel from the region's fire and police departments. Even the medical helicopter landed to honor IDMH for all their hard work during the Pandemic. The staff was delighted!
Starting today, Arnot Health has moved our Covid-19 drive thru testing to the St. Joseph's campus, Church Street entrance. The former Emergency Department entrance gives us more room and protection from the weather for both patients and our staff. If you want to be tested, you must call the Covid Helpline at 800-952-2662 to be scheduled.
Halloween during a Pandemic calls for a little creativity. Nurse Colleen in the Arnot Health Heart and Vascular Institute used her mask to create her costume, much to the delight of our patients!
