Last weekend to see Lindsay Morris: Meet Your Neighbor at Duck Creek We’re open Fri-Sun, 2-6pm and Lindsay will be on site Friday & Sunday. Stop in and be neighborly!
Here’s our final performance of the summer, from Long Island’s own Brandee Younger, who graced us with a spectacular September concert. She is jazz’s most visible practitioner of the jazz harp, and has performed with everyone from underground jazz star Makaya McRaven to jazz elders Pharoah Sanders and Charlie Haden to the popular performers John Legend, Drake, and Lauryn Hill. On a lovely late summer afternoon Younger and her stellar quartet, featuring Anne Drummond on flute, Rashaan Carter on bass and Allan Mednard on drums, moved through a whole host of textures and emotions, at times tough and forthright and at others tender and introspective. We’re including the whole concert.
LIVE!! Watch it now!
Our last concert of 2020! Brandee Younger @harpista Quartet featuring the amazing Alan Mednard @allanmednard on drums, Rashaan Carter @free.bass on bass and @annemusiq on flute. It was a spectacular day for a spectacular performance. Thanks SO MUCH to these amazing performers, our music director Peter Watrous @petesouce and all of you out, for a truly intimate and expansive season at Duck Creek. 2021 here we come .
We just finished a marathon installation day at Duck Creek. We couldn’t be more happy about our last show of the season and its focus on our community through the incredibly sensitive eye of Lindsay Morris @lindsaymorrisphoto We’re so grateful to Carlos Lama @misterlama for his audio expertise and our genius friend @christinelidrbauch for her patience and good humor in helping us hang the show.
Opening October 3rd Lindsay Morris: Meet Your Neighbor Who are the people who live next door? What are their lives like? What do they care about? These are the questions that originally informed the Meet Your Neighbor Project in which photographer Lindsay Morris put herself inside foreign but familiar homes, photographing foreign but familiar faces and personal objects that told something of their history. In March 2020, a large percentage of the global population was instructed to shelter in place. The opportunity to approach her neighbors vanished, and almost overnight this project took on new meaning. @lindsaymorrisphoto #meetyourneighborproject
Making plans. 2021 here we come.
