Wow, just WOW! The New Year has brought us some pretty amazing inversions from the ASRC Whiteface Mountain Field Station Summit.

Here's a look at wind gusts reports greater than 30 mph this afternoon. Rain helped to prevent higher gusts through the valleys. However, at summit level, it was very windy. Whiteface Mountain saw a gust to 93 mph and Mt. Mansfield to 110 mph around 3:45 PM! #vtwx #nywx

The blast of cold air seen this past week is coming to an end with the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) giving us over 50% chance of seeing above normal temperat...ures through the 6-10 and 8-14 day timeframes while seeing less than 20% chance of below normal temperatures. Until cold air can replenish in the arctic, we should see seasonal to slightly above normal temperatures. See more
