The most important part of building a wall is getting the base right. In this build we are using 12 inches of crushed stone for maximum drainage and minimal settling. There are several steps that must be followed to make your wall last 1 - Excavate 12 inches of soil or more to remove soft dirt. Allow a pitch or runoff area for water to drain away from base. 2- Tamp the excavated areas with a plate compactor. It’s important to run over the same areas multiple times 3-Apply no...n-woven geotextile fabric. The purpose is to keep clean crushed stone from migrating into the dirt. Also it keeps dirt out and this eliminates frost heave. 4- Fill excavated area with 12 inches of crushed stone, while tamping every 6 inch layer 5-Smooth area and paint your lines. If your thinking of building a wall or retaining wall, don’t skip steps. You only want to build It once. We are excited to see this build all finished, more pics to follow!

Some of our customers were hit pretty hard by recent flooding, especially in Kirkwood NY. The pictures below represent what used to be well maintained lawn areas devastated by the fast moving water. We are hoping for some dryer weather moving forward.
