Lavern’s Law Update! Yesterday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed two pieces of legislation that will protect cancer patients who have been the victim of a missed diagnosis or mis-diagnosis. The law will provide an extended period of time from the normal statute of limitations for medical malpractice claims: two years and six months from the date of discovering a missed diagnosis and up to seven years from the last treatment.
