Are you process-driven or results-driven? I usually start with a feeling or vision of what I want to accomplish. Then jump into action so I can enjoy the process to make it happen. If I get there or not becomes secondary, as long as I'm learning something. E. g.: Transitions from Doubles to Alternating Circles and back to Doubles, in both directions. Working on letting go of what's coming next and hoping my transitions will flow gloriously with their imperfections. If you're familiar with Seiza posture, this is a dynamic mobility variation I like to do as a warm-up. It actively "massages" your knees and hip structures in tandem, along with a pumping action from your core. And there's stuff going on at your ankles too. Try it! While kneeling in good posture, keep your feet and knees together to the degree possible and try to move slowly at a consistent pace. Don't worry if you cannot do it perfectly. You'll still benefit, as long as you... maintain a tall spine and irradiate tension throughout your entire upper body. Don't slouch. Depending on how tight your hips are, or if this is your first time trying this, you can start with panel mats or some padding next to your heels to reduce the vertical descent. In time, you can remove the padding when you feel ready. Seiza Sway Perform for 60-90 sec. Or 20-30 reps total (alt. sides). #AttuneHolisticFitness

I can't say this will cure your sciatica, but you may be surprised to see how much better your hips will feel after doing this hip trio. I actually developed th...is sequence for myself. I don't want to bore you with technical details. If you have tight hips (or even if you don't know if you have them) give this trio a try and let me know what you think! For the Frog Swivel, notice that after the first 2 reps, when I lift my leg, I turn to the opposite side as if to look at my foot, while pressing the hip bone (of the moving leg) into the mat. If you have questions, shoot! Perform 10 reps each, 1-3 sets.

Funny how perspective changes when you can’t do certain things. This is where my handstand was a few months ago. When I took this picture, I didn’t bother to share it because I saw too many faults and technical details that I’d like to change. Now, I think it’s beautiful for what it is, instead of seeing what’s not right. Can’t wait to get back to training handstandeven if I have to start all over again.

Week 2: Doctor said not to lift heavy weights and that "anything that creates traction" is ok." I don't think he had this in mind, but I couldn't resist throwback to trapeze times. Even if I wasn't able to arch my back it's fun to play with lines and transitions.... You can find pleasure in the spontaneous act of simply exploring movement with what you presently have. It's been my experience that playful physical engagement has a remarkable analgesic effect!
