Setting the record straight? The NFTA Executive Director makes $208,000 a year to operate the smallest rail in the country, a mid size and small airport and a struggling bus system while Governor Andrew Cuomo makes $179,000 a year to operate the STATE OF NEW YORK.
To be clear, senior executive staff did not receive pay increases and their salaries remain at the same levels of two years ago. I believe that this sacrifice is commendable and demonstrates their loyalty and commitment to the organization.
"It's unfortunate, but it goes right back to the fact that they're not interested in hearing from the public," Barr said.
Erie County Legislator April Baskin reads a resolution to hold the NFTA accountable and to put actual riders on the NFTA Board of Commissioners with support from Senator Tim Kennedy and Legislator John Bruso.
Today ATU officers met with BTRU transit riders, politicians and community groups to voice our concerns about transparency and the need for riders to have a voice on the NFTA board of commissioners... the NFTA executive board was invited but as you can see they did not attend.
