Here’s information and photos from this year’s Fill A Belly program where more than 200 families were helped. On behalf of the Auburn Rotary Club, Jonathan’s Furniture, Five Star and Savannah Banks, Food Bank of CNY and other companies, groups and organizations, it was a wonderful experience to help. And once again it shows how caring and sharing the Auburn community is. Auburn, job well done!

Because of safety concerns we started off 2021 with a Zoom club meeting today. Thanks to all who participated today.

Many thanks to all the individuals, companies and organizations who have contributed to this year’s Warm The Children fundraising campaign. We are blown away at this year’s response so far, especially during this pandemic! It’s not too late to contribute and here’s a few ways to do so: 1. Make an online donation at www.auburnrotaryny.org . 2. Make your donation check payable to Warm The Children and mail to Auburn Rotary Club PO Box 446 Auburn NY 13021.... 3. Drop your spare change and dollar bills into coin canisters at select businesses in and around Auburn and Cayuga County. Your donation to Warm The Children is tax deductible. We’ve got more sad news with the passing of Jim Courtney, Past President of the Auburn Rotary Club, former Executive Director of the YMCA, and board member to numerous organizations in the Auburn area. Jim served as our club President in 1994-95. Last year the YMCA renamed its gymnasium in Jim’s honor. He passed away on January 7, 2021. Thank you for what you did to make Auburn a better place. Rest In Peace Jim Courtney.

FOOD DRIVE EXTENDED: The Fill A Belly food drive at Jonathan’s Furniture has been extended to Thursday December 17th. The response so far has been phenomenal and thank you to all who have brought in non perishable food items. The Fill A Belly program is for families in need for the Auburn Enlarged School District. Besides Jonathan’s and the Auburn Rotary Club there are other community groups participating to make this a success! It’s not too late. Please help if you can! Jonathan’s is located at 332 Grant Ave Rd in Auburn.

At Jonathan’s Furniture they’ve been boxing up donations and clearing the floor. And before you know it, voila’ - more non perishable food donations come in for the Fill A Belly program of the Auburn Enlarged School District. Thank you to all who have stopped by and contributed. The food drive for Fill A Belly continues until this Friday December 11th. Jonathan’s is at 332 Grant Avenue Road, next to Kiki Fill, in Auburn. Please help if you can.

We’ve got some sad news to announce with the passing of Mrs. May Henderson on Wednesday January 6, 2021. Mrs, Henderson was a Honorary club member and the wife of the late Robert J. Henderson, a past club President. After her husband’s passing in 2010, Mrs. Henderson spearheaded the establishment of the the Robert J. Henderson Criminal Justice Scholarship, which helps two Auburn area students each year. We will forever be grateful for her friendship and club service for many years. Mrs. Henderson was 94 years old at her passing. Rest In Peace May Henderson.

And as usual our Toni Colella added insight with her 5 Rotary Things In 5 Minutes.
